One Dollar a Day Can’t Buy a Coffee…

But it Can Change a Child’s Life.

For less than the cost of your morning coffee, you can give a child a safe place to talk about their hurting heart, share their fears, rediscover laughter, and find hope again.

Why $1 a Day Matters

In Indiana, more than 75,000 children have experienced the death of a parent or primary caregiver. Grief can feel isolating and overwhelming— especially for children who don’t yet have the tools to name their feelings, manage big emotions, or believe joy is possible again.

Imagine this: $1 a day—just $30 a month—creates a ripple effect that lasts a lifetime. It’s a gift that says, “I care for you. I’m here for you. I won’t let you grieve alone.”

At Brooke’s Place, your $30/month provides:

  • Safe spaces for children to share their stories without fear or shame.

  • Immediate tools for families while they wait for a program opening.

  • Training for facilitators, ensuring more children can be met with care.

  • Lifelong resilience, helping kids learn to manage emotions not just today, but for life.

DONOR STORY

A letter from Lori, a monthly donor:

When I was eight years old, my dad, Michael Quinn, died suddenly. There was no Brooke’s Place back then. I didn’t have a safe place to talk about my heart hurting, or the fear and anger I carried. I didn’t have friends who understood or caring adults who could guide me through it.

That’s why I give today. Every month, I give in memory of my dad, Michael Quinn, so children and families won’t have to walk through their grief alone like I did.

I’m deeply grateful for my family and friends who also give For Someone Like Me. Together, we’re making sure kids have a place where grief is met with compassion, where tears are normal, and where laughter slowly returns.

Just one dollar a day — less than the cost of a coffee — makes that possible. It creates space for children to heal, and it gives families the tools to move forward together.

I give because I want no child to feel as alone as I once did. Would you join me?

Give… for someone like me.
