Shawn Haymaker, LMHC, ATR-BC
Shawn Haymaker is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Board-Certified Art Therapist who is passionate about supporting children, teens, young adults, and families as they navigate grief and loss. He strives to create a safe, compassionate space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to move through their grief at their own pace.
Shawn draws from grief-informed and trauma-informed practices, using art therapy to help clients explore emotions, tell their stories, build resilience, and find connection and hope while honoring their unique grief journey. He believes that creativity can provide a meaningful way to process grief when words are difficult to find.
Prior to joining Brooke's Place, Shawn worked with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. He is especially passionate about helping children, teens, and families navigate the challenges of grief while honoring each person's unique story, strengths, and continuing bond with their loved one.
Outside of work, Shawn enjoys creating art, spending time outdoors, and exploring new creative projects.
