Matt graduated from IUPUI with his MSW in 2017 and is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW). He has 15 years experience working with youth and families in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems. He completed Brooke’s Place facilitator training in fall 2017, and he has served as a facilitator for 10-12 year old’s since then. He is currently employed by the Department of Veterans Affairs and is a Social Worker on the Home Based Primary Care team. He has completed numerous trainings including Trust-Based Relational Intervention, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. He is a master trainer for the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES). He is passionate about working with children and families throughout their grief journey, believes and utilizes Brooke’s Place principle’s in all areas of practice, and has been privileged to be a part of the healing power of Brooke’s Place for youth participating on group nights. In his free time, Matt enjoys gardening, playing board games with his two sons and wife, taking his dogs and cat for walks, going to musicals, and looking for shark teeth and seashells on vacations.
