Brooke's Place 8 Program

BP-8 is an 8-week, peer-based grief support group provided at community partners’ sites, i.e, community centers, churches, schools, etc. This program has allowed Brooke’s Place to expand capacity in serving grieving children and teens. It has also increased our efforts to reach underserved populations, especially those impacted by homicide.

Volunteer facilitators are needed for these short-term programs that usually take place late afternoon or early evening. Facilitators must be trained in the traditional Brooke’s Place facilitator training and require background checks. To learn more, fill out the volunteer application!

"Thank you for all of your help thus far.  (Child) really enjoyed his time there.  He got in the car and the first words were, “Did you know that every kid in my group had their dad die?”  To most that would seem like a horrible thing to say but in our car it was music to our ears.  He was comforted to know that he was not the only kid living this ride on the crazy train… We look forward to an ongoing relationship with Brooke’s Place… Thank you again for everything.  (Child) loved the folks working his group!"
